 1. 在山里行走，结实的靴子和防水服都是必需的。
walking in the moutain, durable boots and waterproof clothes are all essential.
1）明显的主谓一致问题。
2）‘山里’是泛指，采用复数更合适。

2. 总统拒绝与新闻界见面表明了危机的严重性。
The fact that the president’s refusal to meet with the press revealed the seriousness of the crisis.
1）”the fact that the president’s refusal”中“the fact that”是多余的。
2）”meet with”的意思是“和…举行会议”或者“偶然碰见”。本句中的意思应该是“和新闻记者见面、发表针对这场危机的看法、立场等”，所以使用“meet’更合适。
The president’s revealing meeting the press indicated the severity of the crisis.
这句话中的“revealing”显然是误用，译者没有弄清楚它的含义和用法。

3. 家长对孩子爱护备至是非常自然的，甚至在他们长大成人之后。
It’s natural for parents to be completely protective on their children even after their children grow up.
1) “be protective to…”, 介词to（朝，向…)表示所保护的对象，不宜使用介词“on”（在…之上。)
2) 第二个“their children”显得重复啰嗦，可以改为”they”.

4. 他极想向某个人吐露他失败的感觉。
He desperately wants to confide his feelings of failure in someone.
主要是confide的用法。 (以下是牛津高阶的内容，可供参考）
1）confide sth to sb tell (a secret) to sb 向某人吐露（秘密）:
She confided her troubles to a friend. 她向朋友倾吐了内心的烦恼. 
He confided (to me) that he had applied for another job. 他（向我）吐露说他已申请了另一份工作.
(2) confide sb/sth to sb/sth (fml 文) give sb/sth to sb to be looked after; entrust 委托某人照料某人[某事物]; 托付:
Can I confide my children to your care? 托你照顾一下我的孩子好吗?
（3） (phr v) confide in sb trust sb enough to tell a secret to him 充分信赖某人（可告知秘密者）:
There’s no one here I can confide in. 这里没有一个我可以信赖的人

5. 有专家指出，有些职业的自杀率远远高于其他职业。
There are some scientists pointing out that the suicide rate of some jobs is far more higher than others.
1) “有专家”可以理解为“有些专家、某些专家、部分专家”等，可以译为“some experts”;
2) “专家”而非“科学家”，所以不宜译作“scientist”；
3）“有些职业的自杀率”中，‘rate’应该为复数；介词应该是‘in’，而非‘of’；‘职业’而非某一‘具体的工作’，所以可以译作‘occupation’.

1. 新的体制将在六个月的过渡期内逐步推行。
New system will be gradually carried out in six-month transition.
1) 冠词的用法：“新的体制”应该是说话人和听话人都知道的内容，所以前面应该加“定冠词the”. “六个月的过渡期”是第一次提出的一个具体的时间段，前面应该“加不定冠词a”。
2）表示一段时间，可以用“in a week, in a month…”,或者”over a… period,”等。此处可译为：“over a six-month transition period.”
3）carry out 一项任务、决定或职责等，而非system。
The new form will be put into practice over a six-month transition period.
1) ”体制“而非“表格、形态”，所以不宜译作“form”.
2) ”put into practice”译为“付诸实践”，并无“逐步推行”之意，建议改为“introduce”,或 “phase in”。

2. 警员声称他们在暴乱中所采取的行动纯属防卫。
The polices exclaim that what they did during rebellion is just defensive.
1） “警员”而非“警察局”或“警察部门”或“警方”，所以应该译作“policemen”或“police officers”.
2）“声称”而非“感叹或惊叫”，所以不可译作“exclaim”,可以译作”claim”.
3）“暴乱”而非“反叛”，所以不宜译作“rebellion”，可以译作“riot”。

3. 大约价值250,000美元的医疗物资被分发到遭受流行病侵袭的家庭。
About $250000 worth of medical supplies was distributed to families affected by epidemic.
1)因为很多国家采用元（dollar），所以美元宜译作“us dollar”或“US$”.
2）根据句意，“流行病”肯定已在上文出现过，所以前面不可缺少定冠词“the”.
3）从“被分发到”中，我们可以得知这件事情已经完成，所以应该采用完成时态。

4. 那些产品原本在当地加工，现在大部分在远东地区成批生产。
The products used to be made locally are now mass-produced at remote East.
“远东Far East、中东Middle East、近东Near East是欧洲人对“与欧洲距离不同的亚洲地区”的称呼，属专有名词，不可随意翻译。

5. 在联邦赤字问题上总统所持的立场得到了参议院众多议员的赞同。
the presendent’s standpoint on federal deficit was endorsed by most the Sensate.
1) “总统”为常用词，拼写错误属于低级错误。
2）”federal budget”前面的定冠词不宜缺少。
3）“参议院众多议员”的翻译：可以考虑用“most of”表示“…的大多数”，of不可缺少；the Senate指的是参议院这个机构，而非议员。
The President’s opinion on the federal deficit was endorsed by many Congressmen.
1) “立场”不是“opinion”（意见，看法）；
2）congressman是国会议员，尤其指众议员，而非参议员。
